Acupuncture session set to raise donations

Licensed acupuncturist Kim Powell with Lotus Sun Therapeutics, has organized an event to help raise money for Acupuncturists Without Borders, which provides community acupuncture free to victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Since last October, Acupuncturists Without Borders has treated about 6,000 people in Louisiana with free community acupuncture in the aftermath of Katrina. Acupuncture helps people deal with stress.
Powell will offer community-style acupuncture from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at 957 Baxter St. A donation of $20 to $25 is suggested for the 30-45 minute treatments.
Massage therapist Kim Lisenbee also will be available for 30-minute therapeutic massages.
